Government applies for extension to red diesel derogation
The UK has finally applied for an extension to the red diesel derogation.
On Friday, the Treasury's formal application was handed to the European Commission (EC).
The EC will now consider the derogation, before passing it to the EU Council of Ministers for a vote.
December's MBM (out 16 November) will feature exclusive comment from John Healey, financial secretary to the Treasury, and further details on the application and the EC's response.
