Campaign to return ferry Dover to Dover
A campaign is being mounted to return the 43-year-old cross-Channel ferry Dover to its namesake harbour as a floating attraction. Andy MacLean, the ship's former purser, says it would make a wonderful focal point for the redeveloped Wellington Dock.

"It already has extensive bars and lounges," he said, "and is large enough to be converted for use as a floating hotel, conference centre and museum." Dover, which was retired from cross-Channel service in 1981, is currently named Tuxedo Royale and is laid up in Hartlepool.
