Day 1 – Normandy cruise

The fleet is gathered for the start of the second cruise of the season, but will we make our Channel crossing tomorrow?

MBM’s Cruising Club fleet has assembled in Royal Clarence Marina for the start of the Normandy cruise. With a total of 26 boats gathered here and at the surrounding marinas, it looks set to be a busy and raucous couple of weeks.

Only one boat will be missing the start of the cruise – Beneteau Monte Carlo 42, Rosie ‘D’ has been delayed due to handover issues but the crew is hoping to catch up with us along the Normandy coastline.

At the moment the weather is looking a little uncertain for tomorrow so it will be an early start for the MBM team as Neale will be up at 4am to check the weather and Claire and Richard may have to venture out on Time Flies to get a closer look. I, of course, will do all I can to help, mostly from the comfort of my bed.

For now, however, we have more important matters at hand – we’re off for our traditional start of cruise curry.
