Reasons to be cheerful
There has been plenty of good news from the show this week. Attendance is healthy and, yes, boats are being sold, probably more than anyone dared expect given the financial news stories that befell the show's opening.
One of the UK's largest dealers, Ancasta, has told MBM that, so far, Southampton Boat Show has exceeded all expectations. Talking about their recent appointment as UK distributors for Sealine, Ancasta MD Nick Griffiths said that "new product and a commitment to after sales service and support were the main reasons for success". Griffiths pointed to the new Sealine SC35 as one example, claiming that seven were sold in the first weekend alone.
