Behind the scenes
It's day 8 of the Southampton Boat Show and a blustery day at that. An early visit to the pontoons before 9am reminded me how much hard work goes on behind the scenes that the general public doesn't see. Cleaners armed with hoovers, leathers, hoses, buckets and sponges, some of whom were on the pontoons before sunrise, diligently polishing and perfecting the masses of GRP, wood and stainless. Magically they all vanish at 10am.
