Day 13 - Channel Islands & Brittany

There was no alarm aboard the MBM control boat, or on any of the other fleet boats this morning. After a long day out on the water yesterday, today was well-earned rest day in St Peter Port. There had been heavy rain overnight and the gusty wind had continued to buffet the boats in the tightly packed basin.
Bavaria 37 Oxygen's re-occurring starting problems with its starboard engine were finally rectified today. Diagnosed by Neale and Gary of Seacrest it turned out to be a faulty relay, which was replaced for just £8 from a local chandlery.
After a lazy morning many crews took a stroll along the buzzing High Street of St Peter Port, or at just 60p per person, some circumnavigated the whole island by bus.
Late afternoon, there was an impressive demonstration of boat handling by the MBM fleet when two non-boats MBM boats had to move out of the packed marina basin. In breezy conditions rafts were untangled and the two large motor cruisers made their way out ready for the departure early tomorrow morning.
At the moment the MBM team are keeping their options open. Unfortunately the weather forecasts for the weekend are changeable but Neale is currently looking at Saturday as a possible move day.
Tomorrow, weather permitting Richard and the team will run RIB trips in Time Flies over to Herm. Tomorrow evening there is a Vin d'Honneur hosted by Guernsey Tourism for the MBM fleet at Castle Cornet.
