Day 6 - West Country

Sunshine at last but when will the wind stop?
Today there was a break from the dismal showers, and a glimmer of sunshine gave crews unlimited time to explore the town and beyond at their leisure. The sun may have been out but the wind has increased during the day, even now as I write it is howling through the marina and the halyards are clanking. When will it stop?
A welcome distraction for the MBM team was Sea 02's jetski. Neale and Ray took a ride out in the Solent and came back soaked through, but grinning ear-to-ear.
Four boats joined the fleet today in Lymington. The two Brighton boats, Broom 345 Way Ahead and Broom 42 Seaglo, set out early and commendably made the long passage in uncomfortable conditions. Broom 42 Flightline came round from Haslar, and by early evening Sealine S41 Swept Away had also joined the MBM boats, now numbering 13.
A briefing was held at 1800hrs and the verdict is that, weather permitting, the fleet will make for Poole tomorrow. Neale explained that the forecast looked good this morning but now wasn't looking so good for a move tomorrow. Despite this everyone remains hopeful. Unfortunately if it is no go, each boat will still have to contemplate moving. As it is nearing the weekend and the Lymington Yacht Haven have other boats booked in.
