Day 11 - West Country

50°21.870 N 004°10.027 W

There was an early alarm call for the fleet and MBM team this morning. They awoke to a misty, still morning in Dartmouth. After a final weather check by Neale, Claire and Michelle aboard Time Flies slipped and headed out of the quiet River Dart at 0630 hrs, bound for Plymouth. They reported back acceptable conditions for the 30-mile passage, and continued on to sort out the fuelling and berthing at the other end. Neale and Ray aboard Blue Fin waited behind to ensure everyone's safe departure and followed up the rear.

The fleet made their way to Mayflower Marina, this involved entering the western side of the Plymouth Harbour via The Bridge, a marked passage between rocks linking Drakes Island and the mainland. All boats were berthed by midday and participants could explore the marina and its surroundings or bask in the hot sunshine.

Unfortunately Plymouth marks the most western point of the cruise, as time is now against us. The fleet will stay in Plymouth for two nights and weather permitting the plan is to move to Salcombe for another two nights and then onto Weymouth before returning home on Sunday.

The team has organised another cruise meal for tomorrow night, this will be at the Astras restaurant based at Mayflower.
