Here is the latest information regarding our
plans for 2008
Cotentin and Normandy Cruise 9-18 May
Our opening cruise is a 10-day exploration of the Cotentin Peninsula and Normandy ports. Starting in Portsmouth, we will cross the Channel to Cherbourg before heading east and visiting ports such as St Vaast, Carentan and Courseulles-Sur-Mer before returning back across the Channel to the Solent. If you have a penchant for WWII history, there will be plenty to take in, as we will be in the heart of D-Day landing territory.
Start/finish Portsmouth Eligibility All seaworthy boats capable of making extended sea passages, with a safe un-refuelled range of at least 120 miles.
Price £310 per boat
Royal Southern Yacht Club Motorboat Open Weekend 31 May – 1 June
The open weekend is two days of light hearted competition, with such classics as a Solent treasure hunt, predicted log and poker run, with plenty of opportunity to socialise and let your hair down. This great motorboating weekend includes a welcome reception and a prize giving dinner.
Start/finish Hamble Eligibility Open to all boats Price £190 for two people in a boat under 10m or £200 in a boat over 10m. The price includes mooring at the RSrnYC, harbour dues, welcome reception, 2x breakfasts and prize giving dinner. Channel Islands and Brittany Cruise
7-22 June
The Channel Islands must rate as one of the most popular overseas destinations for south coast boaters, and one that we wouldn’t miss for the world. This year we are combining a visit to Guernsey and Jersey with a trip further south to the Brittany coast of France. Likely destinations will be St Malo, Lezardrieux, Binic and Paimpol, and we will bookend the cruise with visits to Cherbourg to stock up on some essential French produce.
Start/finish Portsmouth Eligibility All seaworthy boats capable of making extended sea passages, with a safe un-refuelled range of at least 120 miles.
Price £405 per boat
West Country Cruise 5-20 July
No passports required for this one, but it’s still a challenging fortnight. We will depart from the Solent, head west, and with good weather, make for the Isles of Scilly. On our way there and back we will call in to some of the best boating havens on the south coast. Weymouth, Dartmouth, Salcombe, Fowey, Plymouth and Falmouth are all on the agenda and with such a variety of ports there will be something for everyone.
Start/finish Solent Eligibility All seaworthy boats capable of making extended sea passages, with a safe un-refuelled range of at least 120 miles.
Price £405 per boat

Holland Cruise 2-17 August
A great family cruise, and ideal for those based on the east coast or Thames, due to its Ramsgate starting point. After a short hop across the Channel we’ll head along the French coast before overnighting in the Belgium port of Niewpoort. From there we’ll venture into the Dutch waters via the Westerschelde dropping into delightful places such as Herkingen, Brouwershaven, Goes, Port Zeeland and Delta Marina, before retracing our steps back into Belgium and French waters, for our return to Ramsgate.
Start/finish Ramsgate
